Ten years ago I wrote about starting out in the world. It went something like this:

Urban Jungle

It's an urban jungle out there and I am ready to take my place
swinging from tree to tree
to seek out knowledge, individuality, creativity and peace
to bathe in anonymity
and wash away myself
to live with mind in voice and always with my voice in mind
to touch a life outside my own
and leave it tainted forever
to learn to live again,
with sacrifice
to accept the limits of my dreams,
then never reach them
to find my place in this jungle,
among,
within,
in spite of
and with the help of
the beautiful diversity of life on my branch
